English-Buddha

活佛師尊慈語: The Living Buddha Master’s Compassionate Words: 徒啊! Disciples! Take the mind with which you demand things of others and turn it upon yourself: examine yourself, change yourself. Do not, whenever something happens, blame others, judge others, and spend every day looking at others’ faults. If you do, you are living in a sea of suffering, in hell! If you look at others’ good points every day, you are living in heaven, in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. In many matters, do not cling to your own opinions. Let go of the clinging mind, and you will feel that you live very happily. Do not often get angry with people or lose your temper. If you do not change your habitual faults, then your future life will meet with many difficulties. After you have quarreled and are unhappy, whoever can speak first and greet the other person—you have won. Remember the teacher’s words: whoever lowers their head first, their virtue grows right there. Disciples! You often fight with others over a breath of pride—what are you fighting for? If you must contend, contend for the ages; do not contend over a momentary fit of temper. Strive for yourself to become an immortal and attain Buddhahood—that is what matters! Do not contend for worldly power, fame, and position. Comparing these with others is all illusory and unreal. Open the knots in your heart. When you only know how to demand things of others, you are living in hell. Because heaven and hell are both shaped by the human mind.
